Thanks for visiting The Roaming Horse shop. I’m Holly Tripp, owner and curator of every item you will find here.
I have always appreciated hand-crafted goods for their representations of different cultures and creative imaginings. When I traveled with friends to Guatemala and Honduras in 2011, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the centuries-old tradition of weaving as artisans diligently worked along the pathways where they sold their goods. Their woven pieces were not only beautiful, but also caught my eye for their exceptional quality which can be hard to find. And it was not lost on me how much these communities rely on their craft.
When in Honduras, I also experienced an epic horseback ride with the daring and headstrong, Luna. Unlike horseback riding in the United States, I was given the freedom to take off and gallop with Luna—well, I was really just following her lead. My friends and I rode across a coffee plantation, Finca el Cisne; we drank from coconuts, sliced open by our guide with a machete; and we soaked in nearby hot springs that evening. It was hands-down one of the best days of my life.
I believe the horse is my spirit animal—I have a deep sense for freedom, endurance, and confidence, and try to demonstrate these characteristics in my daily life. And let’s be honest… horses are simply beautiful and badass.
The Roaming Horse shop celebrates artisan traditions from around the world and the free spirit of horses with a nod to bohemian style. My goal in selecting the items you'll find here is to support artisan communities and the unique items they create. Everything here is sourced responsibly and ethically, so you can feel good about your purchase every time. And many products here are small batch, meaning limited quantities are available, but I do my best to keep in stock the most-loved items for as long as I can.
Thanks again for being here and supporting my independent business. Happy shopping!
